FAQ

What causes lumpy areas in the face after facial fat transfer?

Lumply areas may be caused by a number of factors. If the harvested fat globules are too large or placed too superficial then you may see or feel them. A good amount of transferred fat will not survive and may lead to lumps if placed in too high a volume in one area. It is best to have multiple smaller fat transfers than on large one. Hope this helps Dr. J

Blue inner corners of the eyes - What is the best option to treat this?

Lower lid pigment changes may increase the appearance of dark circles or a “deep blue” tinge. The pigment may be decreased with topical hydroquinone. If the area is hollow it may be raised slightly with lipofilling. Finally the excess skin may be removed and or lasered to decrease the pigment. All the Best,

Nerve block and sedation for deep plane facelift - Why?

I see from your sign on you have medical experience. For any surgery we want the safest, least problematic method available with the fewest complications. For facelifts sedation and local anesthesia fit the bill. The patient is comfortable, and the anesthetic wears off with fewer side effects (nausea, bleeding etc), thus it’s use.
