FAQ

Does it matter which procedure I get first?

If you desire both procedures it does not sense to have 2 anesthesias, 2 operations, 2 recovery periods, and pay thousands more when it can be performed safely and comfortably in one operation. I would wait until the finances work for you to do it all at once, and not do it twice. Check out our mommy makeovers at Austin-Weston in Reston. We will be glad to see you for a consultation and try to make the financing work for you. Choosing a plastic surgeon because one is cheap is unwise. No one looks for the cheapest heart surgeon, and I wouldn't look for the cheapest plastic surgeon either.

What order should my mommy makeover procedures be performed?

We almost always perform these these procedures in one operation, even if it takes two of the surgeons here at the Austin-Weston Center operating simultaneously. This allows for using one anesthesia, one operation, and one recovery period instead of two. It is also significantly less expensive. Having said that, the most important factor to consider is your safety. If your surgeon does not feel that it can be performed safely in one procedure, you should listen to his/her advice. He will also have a recommendation of what order he thinks is the best to perform them. The surgeon you have chosen is the best one to listen to regarding these questions. As an aside, my father was born and raised in Louisville,AL. His name was Weedon Weston, and both my mother and father are buried there. I was last there in 2007 for my mother's funeral. As a child I remember Louisville well, driving from Headland to visit my aunts and uncles every few weeks. Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions.

When Will the Swelling Subside?

Post operative swelling tends to last for weeks. This is why in our practice we don't take post op photos for at least 3 months. Be patient, and listen to you plastic surgeon regarding what to expect.
