FAQ

Had Volbella under my eyes 2 years back and I think the filler has migrated - advice?

Juvederm brand fillers should not be injected under eyes, in tear trough areas or in periorbital zone. They are highly viscous and are very difficult to remove if they migrated. It may take several sessions to remove the filler using the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronuic acid. I do not think that weight fluctuation could have caused the migration of the filler. Rubbing eyes can cause displacement of the filler. The best way is to be seen for a consultation in person and have an ultrasonogram performed to locate the filler.

Q: What laser and treatment would be best for this?

You will experience a great improvement in pore size, texture and elasticity of skin after CO2 laser. It has a significant downtime (5-7 days), but the results are very dramatic. Only patients with skin type 1-3 are good candidates. I personally perform type 4 skin as well but on special settings. Your skin will never feel and look so good after only 1 session. Some patients with very deep acne scars or deep furrows may need multiple sessions after 5-6 months. The majority of people who had CO2 treatments experience dramatic transformation.

Difference between lasers for scar revision?

If your scar is deep and atrophic, lasers may not be the answer. Scar treatments now include nano fat transfers. It is a miraculous technology that helps to grow your own collagen. Fat is collected from abdomen under local anesthesia, then meticulously processed and injected into the scar tissue.
