I think you have a nice looking nose. But as you have found out yourself, there are minor things that can be improved. It is really a question of how much it bothers you. If you can live with it, do it. If you are too self conscious about it then do something about it. One thing you need to make sure is that you don't either over or under operate. What I mean by that is that you want to address the issues you are having with nose efficiently without altering the nice qualities of your nose. Hope this helps.
I don't think its unusual for someone in your situation to be apprehensive about surgery. As long as you are having this operation in a safe environment, with a qualified (board certified) plastic surgeon, you should be ok. If you are going out of state to do this, make sure you stay there long enough for recovery. I usually have my patients stay for at least 10 days before traveling back home.
