FAQ

Nose is starting to get crooked after rhinoseptoplasty

Its too early to determine the final outcome on your septorhinoplasty. There is still significant swelling that will improve over the next several months. Hope this helps.

Septum still not straight

Thanks for the question. Usually you should have some improvement a month out from septoplasty. However, there could be other factors as well such as allergies, inflammation etc. I would go back to your surgeon so they can look with a camera to see if there is any residual anatomic obstruction or if you need to put on some nasal sprays to help with the obstruction. Good luck!

Will my insurance cover a nose job if I'm having trouble breathing because of how big the tip of my nose is?

This is a difficult question as there are many factors as to why you may not be able to breathe through your nose. Some of the more common reasons include deviated septum, nasal valve collapse (narrow nose on the inside), enlarged turbinates. Insurance companies will cover certain surgeries with the nose depending on the source of the nasal obstruction. I would recommend you see a board-certified surgeon experienced in dealing with functional as well as cosmetic rhinoplasty.
