It is possible to have Coolsculpting after C-section. Waiting about 12 months is typical prior to treatment. This allows patients to return to their stable prepregnancy weight and allows time for the scar to heal. Screening for abdominal hernia should also be performed prior to treatment. Stretch marks should not occur with treatment. The Coolsculpting treatment typically does not alter the elasticity of the skin- it neither helps nor harms stretch marks/loose skin. Only the fat should be treated during Coolsculpting and assessment should be made by a physician given your history.
In a good candidate for treatment, Coolsculpting should result in a 20-25% reduction in the fat cells in the areas treated. As long as patients maintain their diet and regular level of exercise this result is typical and the result should endure over time. Healthy exercise and weight loss should only improve the results of treatment.
We know that regular fat cells typically do not regenerate. Coolsculpting eliminates 20-25% of fat cells on average and these cells typically do not return. As long as you maintain your weight with diet and exercise following treatment, the results of Coolsculpting should be permanent. Should your weight change, however, the remaining fat cells in the previously treated area can enlarge or shrink possibly altering the results of treatment.
